The moment you have been waiting for is here! The team at Monte Creek Ranch Winery is very excited to introduce our new 2015 vintages to our wine lineup. To celebrate this moment, we held a Wine Club Exclusive Vintage Release Party on March 19th. It was so wonderful to share this experience with our members and now we are excited to officially release them for everyone to enjoy. The new vintages to our wine portfolio include our 2015 Riesling, 2015 Rose and 2014 Ranch Hand Red Reserve.
First, we want to share some information about how the harvest was this year. An early budbreak, followed by one of the hottest years in BC history, led to the earliest recorded grape harvest. We began picking some of our grapes in August, a full month ahead of schedule. 2015 was all about trying to slow things down. Luckily, our cool South Thompson nights helped us to retain plenty of acidity and freshness in our white wines. Meanwhile, the intense heat created some of the most concentrated and deeply coloured red wines we have ever produced.
2015 Rose
Our 2015 Rosé arrives just in time for summertime and patio sipping. It is 100% Marquette (pinot noir’s new world grandchild).
These small berries with pink pulp provide a nice skin-to-juice ratio and pretty colour palette, ideal for our crisp and fresh rosé.
This Rosé is a beautiful blood orange hue with aromas of cherry, strawberry puree, and caramelized sugar. This is a real round and juicy palate pleaser with just a hint of sweetness.
It pairs with hot summer days, swimming pools, and brunch.
2015 Riesling
Our 2015 Riesling is a classic beauty that entices with a brilliant colour and aromas of peach, lime zest, and honeysuckle. It is delicate and dry on the palate with minerality and lively acidity.
Pairs well with shellfish and spicy foods.
2014 Ranch Hand Red Reserve
We are extremely excited for our release of the 2014 Ranch Hand Red Reserve. It exhibits aromas and flavours of cherry, cinnamon, orange zest, nutmeg, charred bacon and plum.
You will enjoy the medium body, with velvety tannin thanks to being in barrel for 15 months. Ranch Hand Red pairs with leaner cuts, roasted dishes.
This red blend is composed of our best batches of Marquette, Merlot, Frontenac Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. These premium wines were barrel aged for several months. Enjoy now through 2020. This wine is only available at the winery.
